A high-performance AV-over-IP system from CYP Europe has transformed the match day atmosphere and hospitality offering at Lincoln City FC’s LNER Stadium.

Looking to modernise its stadium infrastructure, Lincoln City FC identified a key area for improvement: the audio-visual system used across its hospitality suites, concourses and internal displays. While the club was already offering an excellent fan experience, the outdated AV setup made it difficult to manage content, expand the system, or deliver high-definition video across multiple zones.

With ambitions to create a more dynamic and engaging match day experience — while also supporting non-match day events — the club turned to CYP Europe.

 

The Need for Change

Lincoln City’s previous AV system relied on coaxial cabling and RF signal distribution, limiting the number of screens and sources available, and offering very little in terms of control. Signal interference was common, and expansion was not feasible without a major overhaul.

Recognising the need to modernise, the club turned to Global Vision to research and source a solution. Global Vision selected CYP Europe’s IP-based products and carried out the hardware installation. Octogon Technology Ltd now maintains and operates the system on matchdays, while F1 Group provided expert configuration of the stadium-wide network infrastructure.

The Solution

CYP Europe’s IP-7000 range formed the backbone of the new AV system. The installation includes:

• 5x IP-7000TX
• 56x IP-7000RX
• 1x IP-CS7 controller with GUI
• EL-42MPIP 4×2 HDMI switch with picture-in-picture technology

The system is managed via the IP-CS7’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface, which simplifies matchday operations. Operators can easily route content to various zones and apply groupings or macros for fast screen switching. Scheduling ensures the system is activated automatically on matchdays.

Looking ahead: The IP-9000 series

The Implementation

The new AV system was rolled out to 56 screens across eight key zones at LNER Stadium, including 18 pitch-side hospitality boxes, lounges, and bar areas. The infrastructure was designed with five strategically placed Ethernet switches connected via 10Gbps fibre uplinks, creating a fully redundant network loop for fail-safe reliability.

On matchdays, operators can now control and switch content remotely from the control room using the IP-CS7 interface — no physical access needed. Pre-programmed groupings, macros, and scheduling ensure the system is ready ahead of every event.
