AU-11CD – HDMI Audio De-Embedder (5.1) with built in Repeater

The AU-11CD – HDMI Audio De-Embedder allows you to extract audio signals from your HDMI source. When connecting to a TV or display you don’t always get the best audio, or in the case of a PC monitor, no audio at all. So with this Audio Extractor you can take your original HDMI audio signal and convert it to digital optical or analogue Stereo (L/R) audio. This means that you can output your audio signal to external speakers or extend your audio signal pathway.

What does a HDMI audio de-embedder do?

An HDMI audio de-embedder (sometimes called an HDMI audio extractor) is a device that separates the audio part of an HDMI signal from the video and provide additional audio connectors outputting this audio signal. In this case the audio outputs are an Toslink optical digital and a stereo analogue RCA (phono) audio connectors. In this product and commonly with these products the HDMI signal maintains both the audio and video signals so you do not lose the audio signal from the HDMI output connection.

What does the HDMI Repeater part of this product do?

The HDMI repeater part of this product acts as a 'repair' for the incoming HDMI signal, this allows standard HDMI cabling to run much longer through the device than would otherwise work, in this case up to 10m in and 10m out.
