RE-EDID-4K22 FAQ

What is EDID?

There are many long winded albeit technically accurate documents and website about EDID, so we won't repeat them here. In essence its about the Display device being able to 'tell' the source about its capabilities and other information...sometimes this doesn't go as expected and the outcome of that is you get no picture, no audio , or similar unwanted symptom.

How can this help ?

The RE-EDID-4K22 acts like a middle man in your system , resolving issue like, the 'real' edid not working , or being corrupt by the time it travels down the HDMI cable . It also has many other features like HDCP management and scaling which will also help to solve other issues that may not technically be EDID related. The bottom line is , if you have a situation where you have video or audio issues and you can't work out why , one of these is likley to help.

How is this connected?

The RE-EDID-4K22 has HDMI In and HDMI out , so it's positioned inline in your normal signal path. As a basic example if you had a Set Top box connected to a TV which had issues because of EDID , the new connection would be Set Top Box>RE-EDID-4K22>TV and as if by magic all your EDID related issues should melt away.
